Souled Out Social 2.0 - May 5th

That's right we are at it again. If you made it out to the last Souled Out Social, then you know that it was a night not soon to forget. Dope music, dope venue, and dope people made for a super dope evening. Well this time will be no different as we fill the lineup with some usual suspects and a few new guests. For this one we have enlisted the 3 man wrecking crew (with Joe Dukes holding down the 4th spot on production), Can't Find a Villian. A cross between Sage Francis and M.O.P., Can't Find a Villian meshes socially conscious lyrics with satirical concepts and noir humor barrages that leave the listener with the urge to rewind over and over again. Truely a dope up and coming act in the Bay, their live show is why we got them on the bill. Everytime I have seen them a few times and I can say these cats bring it (and that is coming from a born again hater!!). Also on the bill, is the hottest Bay Area act right now swearing off you busters, Ms Melina Jones. Gender aside, this Sum of Forces alum, brings it pure and uncut. Her album is catching fire all over the globe courtesy of Female Fun (Spinna, Sadat X, Prince Paul) and here live show is hearfelt and mezmerizing. She is definatley the true definition of an MC with no reason to add the Fem unless you just want to add insult to injury for the vast majority of male rappers that she blows out the water!



Closing out the lineup is live hip hop bands Mixed Messengers and Finless Brown. Audio aka Inkfat and company get it right with their brand of Cali Hip Hop. I always find myself hearing the reggae and ska overtones in the music, which makes it that much doper and unique. A true treat for the ears and senses as the home girl rocks for dolo on the MIC and gets the crowd in the front everytime. While we can all debate the dopeness of her former crew, Group Therapy (which is now a duo, shouts to Random & Lmntal), Audio is definately still repping hard for new hip hop and keeping it hella tight with MM.



I can't be too self indulged by doing a take on my band. You know the name....FINLESS BROWN. I think we are dope (Okayplayer said we are doper than an average 90s HS band and a filthy orgy), but I will let you be the judge. This is music, not a campaign. Come to the show and make a decision to get down or not. We gets busy regardless, HOLLA!!!!
